Who am I?

A daughter of Cuban exiles I picked up a paint brush at 4 years old.  It came so naturally to me that I did not understand all the unwanted attention and did what introverts also naturally do, stepped away from the noise.  My curiosity of the world guided me away from my birthplace of Miami, Fl towards Cambodia, France, El Salvador and many cities and towns in the US where I also called home. Living in cultures so different from my already bicultural Cuban-American upbringing where the native language was Spanglish, I questioned early on not only the meaning of life, but my place in the world and why different societies live as they do. I learned as did T.S. Elliot, “at the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and to know the place for the first time”.  The revelation, we all need the same things - to be seen, understood and loved.  This journey and its lessons are the core of my work.
